One of my favourite set days ever.

The long-running soap opera Home and Away’s Sophie Dillman has taken to social media to explain what it was REALLY like to “give birth” on the show.
Last week on the show, her character Ziggy gave birth to a lovely baby boy with on-screen (and actual) partner Dean (played by Patrick O’Connor).
Sophie acted out every contraction, every push, and every emotion during the labour and delivery, giving Patrick and Sophie a glimpse into what their future may hold (that is if they ever decide to have in real life children of their own).

In the Instagram image, Sophie was all smiles with her hair styled to appear as though it had been sweat-soaked from labour and her makeup done to give off a gorgeous natural glow.
“Magical,” was how she characterised the event.
We certainly felt the magic as we watched the scenes unfold on our televisions!
Giving birth is a magnificent experience, wrote Sophie.
“Congratulations to the cast and crew today.” One of my all-time favourite actors on set.

The 29-year-old actress continued by thanking her hair and makeup professionals for helping her feel her best during her staged labour.
Can you be on call @paddy.oco @hil brooks mua if I ever give birth so I can look this pretty?
devoted co-stars In addition to Chris Hemsworth and Isabel Lucas, Luke Mitchell and Rebecca Breeds, Bec Hewitt (née Cartwright) and Beau Brady, and married couple James Stewart and Sarah Roberts, Sophie and Patrick aren’t the only actors on the programme to fall in love while filming.
Our lovebirds, in contrast to many of their Home and Away alumni, really got to know one another at university years before their characters’ on-screen encounter.

In March 2021, Sophie admitted to being friends while still in college to The Morning Show.
We didn’t actually see each other after that because we were in separate years, but we eventually connected on the show. And conveniently, on the show, our characters grew close.
Even if a baby isn’t in the immediate plans, we know the happy couple will enjoy being pretend parents on television.
