EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy was paid £100,000 for fitness DVD before putting weight back on

Natalie Cassidy, a former cast member of EastEnders, recently discussed her weight-loss DVDs and the techniques she used to make them.

The actress, best known for playing Sonia Fowler, served as the face of two DVDs, Then and Now from the early 2000s and The Perfect Ten from 2013.

Natalie has talked openly about her weight loss and said that she now regrets agreeing to the Then and Now show contract, which earned her £100,000.

She remarked on the Comfort Eating with Grace Dent podcast, “I was quite overweight when they approached me and said, “Listen, we’re going to give you £100,000, we’re going to get you really fit, and you’re going to drop four stone.”

I was like, “Happy days, let’s go for it,” she continued. That’s a lot of money, I thought, but it wasn’t the proper thing to do. It wasn’t; with minimal calorie intake and daily exercise, you can lose a lot of weight in three to four months, twelve to sixteen weeks.

“I arrived there and immediately after the DVD was out, I ate for England.” In eight weeks, I gained all the weight back.

Since 1993, Natalie has intermittently filled the part of Sonia.

Sonia discovered the reality about Rocky over the holidays (Brian Conley).

Rocky, who claimed to be Sonia’s long-lost father but was actually named Tom Cotton, arrived in Walford with plans to steal her inheritance from her along with Dotty (Milly Zero).

Most recently, to honour Dot Cotton, Sonia and Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) recreated a memorable moment from the BBC One soap opera’s beginning (June Brown).
