Delroy Atkinson, who portrays Howie Danes in the BBC soap opera EastEnders, has already tasted success in Hollywood.
Delroy Atkinson, a newcomer to EastEnders who portrays Howie Danes on the well-known BBC soap opera, has a very interesting background as an actor. Delroy has previously worked with actors like Idris Elba and Johnny Depp in blockbuster films and popular TV shows.
The actor gained notoriety before making his EastEnders debut by appearing in Luther and Holby City on the BBC. He appeared in two episodes of the fifth season of the programme as Derek Hayes.
Delroy even experienced a small taste of Hollywood fame when he starred in the 2017 Pirates of the Caribbean sequel, Dead Men Tell No Tales. He portrayed Pike, a pirate and member of the Dying Gull’s crew.
Delroy has amassed quite the fan base since showing up in Albert Square, so it appears that the actor’s recent decision to take the risk to become a soap star is paying off. Late last year, when Kim (Tameka Empson) learned that he had assumed the identity of her missing husband Vincent Hubbard, his character first appeared on our screens.
When Howie first arrived, Kim didn’t seem too keen on him, but after he offered to help promote her business and assist her with her daughter’s scholarship application so that she could continue attending her private school, she quickly warmed up to him.
Since then, Howie Danes and Kim Fox have developed a romantic relationship. To the delight of their fans, the two even kissed in a recent episode. But recently, as Howie grew more reclusive, their relationship was put to the test.
Kim Fox later discovered the cause of his strange behaviour when she unintentionally crossed paths with his son. Given that she had no prior knowledge of him even having a family, she seemed shocked.
