Kat Slater from EASTENDERS will see Alfie Moon on her wedding day, but a new theory predicts that the reunion will result in tragedy for the ex-couple.
In the current episode of EastEnders, Kat Slater (played by Jessie Wallace) is preparing for her wedding to Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), but in typical soap fashion, Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) is scheduled to show up and try to ruin Kat’s big day. Will the returning character’s attempts to get his ex back, though, end in tragedy?
The day of Kat and Phil’s wedding approaches in the episodes airing next week as Mo Harris (Laila Morse) makes her way back to Walford.
The market vendors surprise the happy couple, but Shirley Carter’s (Linda Henry) casually unflattering remark makes Kat question her future.
Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), who reassures Kat that she might be truly happy with the shady dealer, listens to what Kat has to say.
After confiding in Zack Hudson, Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) secretly hatches a plan to ruin the wedding and win back Phil (James Farrar).
Sharon tries to talk about the good old days with Phil, but he bluntly tells her that Kat is his future.
Zack, however, hears a conversation incorrectly and believes that Phil told Sharon that he still has feelings for her.
Kat is understandably upset, but Phil reassures her that he loves her and the matriarch makes every effort to forget about Sharon.
At the same time that Kat opens the door for Alfie on the other side of the square, Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) learns that his brothers Bert and Ernie have been up to no good.
Alfie begs the Slater stalwart to think twice about marrying Phil, but she dismisses him because she is not happy to see him.
As Kat tries to break the two apart, the sketchy dealer rushes over and confronts Alfie.
As Kat gets ready for her wedding with Alfie and Phil out of the way, she is unaware that Bert and Ernie have entered their father’s van.
Kat is compelled to go pick up her sons, but things spiral out of control when the twins won’t leave Alfie’s canal boat.
The bride might need to get on Alfie’s boat to get her sons back, but will the cheeky chappie set sail with Kat trapped inside?
Fans of EastEnders will recall Alfie’s infamous on-and-off love affair, and the former landlord of the Queen Vic frequently planned grand gestures to win over his partner.
Will they be in danger, though, given that official spoilers say things will “get out of hand”?
Alfie would unquestionably dive in to try to save Kat if she lost her balance and fell into the water.
The couple might get trapped underwater on their wedding day and pass away in each other’s arms.
Even if Kat and Alfie avoid falling into the water, Bert and Ernie might not be so lucky.
The brothers could get into trouble while playing around because the twins are constantly getting into mischief.
Will Kat and Alfie make the ultimate sacrifice to protect their sons?
In the meantime, Chris Clenshaw, the executive producer of EastEnders, and Shane Richie talked about how much Alfie loves Kat in an interview with yzee.uk and other media.
He said, when asked why he had brought Alfie back, “I think it was inevitable. Are Phil and Kat a couple? Because Alfie is Kat’s true love, we had to bring him back, and their wedding day was the ideal time to do so.
Alfie is still putting in extra effort for Kat, and he’s attempting to persuade her that he feels the same, according to Shane. “I’m currently playing storylines where you go; will they?”
