While promoting his most recent movie, Babylon, Brad Pitt said he was “perplexed” in an interview with Channel 10 reporter Angela Bishop.
When Angela questioned Margot Robbie, who plays Brad’s co-star in the Australian soap opera The Bullet Train star, 59, appeared to have no idea what they were discussing as they discussed Neighbours, which will return the following year after being cancelled.
Prior to landing her big Hollywood break in The Wolf of Wall Street, Margot, 32, began her acting career on Neighbours from 2008 to 2011.
After Network Ten and Channel 5 cancelled Neighbours earlier this year, she exclaimed, “I’m so happy” that Amazon Freevee had decided to bring it back.
Brad was intrigued by the allusion to the popular soap opera and remarked, “The American sitting here is getting a little perplexed.”
After the interview, Margot promised to explain her involvement with Neighbours to him.
To attend the interview for the junket, the premiere of Babylon, and the after-party, Angela had flown to Los Angeles.
She regrettably caught Covid-19, which forced her to cancel all of her appointments and force her to conduct her Zoom interviews with Brad and Margot from her hotel room.
Early this year, Neighbours was cancelled by British television network Channel 5 because it wasn’t worth the money. In July, the final episode aired.
Months later, however, in an unexpected turn of events, production company Fremantle agreed to work with a new broadcast partner—the streaming service Amazon Freevee.
Early next year, the series will resume filming there.
Ryan Moloney (Toadfish Rebecchi), Stefan Dennis (Paul Robinson), Jackie Woodburne (Susan Kennedy), and Alan Fletcher (Dr. Karl Kennedy) have all agreed to return in their respective roles.
On the other hand, cast member April Rose Pengilly claims that no other actors have been contacted.
