The actor, well known for his portrayal as Alfie Moon, will attend the Christmas pantomime at Plymouth’s Theatre Royal.
Everyone enjoys going to the Christmas pantomime, and theatregoers are in for a treat this year. EastEnders actor Shane Richie will play Sleeping Beauty, the Plymouth Theatre Royal has announced.
In this year’s fantastic family pantomime, Sleeping Beauty, Shane, who is best known for his role as Alfie Moon on the streets of Walford, will lead the cast as Muddles beginning on Friday, December 16. This Christmas, Matt Terry, Ceri Dupree, Peter Piper, and Stephanie McKenzie will all be with him.
Shane previously talked openly about how he camped out in Plymouth. By changing his birthdate on his identification to make it appear as though he was 18 years old, he was able to “blag” a job as a DJ at a city club, but he ultimately had to camp outside the train station.
In addition to his illustrious television career, Shane has a long list of theatre credits, including Grease in the London West End and Manchester production, BoogieNights, A Perfect Murder, Not Dead Enough, and most recently, Hugo and Loco Chanelle in Everybody’s Talking about Jamie in the West End and on UK tour.

Matt Terry, best known for being named the victor of the 13th season of ITV’s The X Factor in 2016, will be working alongside Shane as The Prince. Since that time, Matt has been composing and recording music all over the world. His song When Christmas Comes Around, which was written by Ed Sheeran, reached the top three of the charts. Matt also collaborated with Sean Paul on Enrique Iglesias’ huge summer single Subeme La Radio.
He has performed in Broadway’s Dr. Seuss and How the Grinch Stole Christmas in addition to touring the globe in the lead roles of Rock of Ages and Madagascar the Musical from DreamWorks. the Opera.
Ceri Dupree, a panto dame and cabaret performer, has appeared in venues all around the UK. The Rocky Horror Show, Hello Dolly, Rock Hard 60s Tribute Show, Hot Stuff the 70s Tribute Show, The Ultimate Hen Party, and Ceri’s portrayal of Danny La Rue in Cilla all received praise for their performances.
Peter Piper, a well-known panto comic, co-starred in ITV’s 5 Alive in the 1980s before moving on to appear in US television programmes. Peter played Tom Ridley in Coronation Street for ITV and participated in the Jimmy McGovern series Broken for BBC One. He most recently appeared with Shane in the Channel 5 television programme Caravanning with Shane Richie.
As Princess Beauty, rising musical theatre sensation Stephanie McKenzie joins the cast. Following her graduation from the Royal Academy of Music, Stephanie is presently touring the UK with The Osmonds: A New Musical.
The largest pantomime producer in the world, Crossroads Pantomimes, is responsible for Sleeping Beauty. The kid-friendly production will be jam-packed with participation opportunities, comic routines, and all the unforgettable charm that Theatre Royal audiences have come to expect from their yearly holiday pantomime.

Tickets are currently on sale for Sleeping Beauty, which will run at Theatre Royal Plymouth from Friday, December 16, 2022, to Saturday, January 14, 2023.
