After Peter Beale left EastEnders last night, Dayle Hudson posted on Instagram.
The actor, who has been playing Peter on the BBC series since 2020, made mention of the difficulties of filming during the pandemic and praised his time there as a “socially distant fantasy.”
“Thank you Peter, it’s been one hell of a ride,” the whole post stated.
And I want to thank @bbceastenders for making my socially isolated fantasy come true.
Dayle posted several pictures from his time working on the soap opera, including off-screen hijinks with other actors and stills from earlier episodes.
Shiv Jalota (Vinny Panesar), a member of the EastEnders cast, wrote in the comments section, “Brother you shall fly.”
Emojis were used by Danielle Harold (Lola Pearce) and Milly Zero (Dotty Cotton) to express their affection.
Gurlaine Kaur Garcha remarked, “pash forever,” in reference to Peter’s affair with Ash Panesar.
Peter left the show last night (Thursday, July 14) after a family dispute in which Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) sided with Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden), Peter’s uncle and the attacker, by giving him an explanation for his attack on his nephew.
Peter fled the square because he felt betrayed.
Thanks to a change behind the scenes, EastEnders viewers can anticipate seeing more characters leave the square after Peter’s departure.
In the upcoming weeks and months, Lola Pearce, Stuart Highway, Jada Lennox, and Dana Monroe will all be leaving the serial opera.
