Fans are speculating about who they will see in Ramsay Street once more in light of the recent news that Neighbours has been saved by Amazon.
The venerable Australian serial drama, which Channel 5 controversially decided to cancel earlier this year, has been saved by the streaming service. A new season is currently in production and will debut in the UK and US in 2023 exclusively for free on Freevee.
In addition, Amazon now owns the online rights to thousands of previous season episodes, all of which can be viewed now before the new show’s debut.
Early 2023 will see the start of production, with the world premiere planned for the second half of the year.
Stefan Dennis, Alan Fletcher, Ryan Moloney, and Jackie Woodburne, who played Paul Robinson, Karl Kennedy, Toadie Rebecci, and Susan, have already announced that they will return to reprise their leading roles. However, could Guy Pearce return to play Mike Young?
Guy’s return to the soap a few months ago as a part of the finale celebrations will be recalled by viewers.
In the plot, Mike met Jane Harris again and made the decision to return to his former residence.
As a result, Guy could theoretically make another appearance on the show unless he is explicitly written out.
He told Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on This Morning, “I’ve got to talk to Annie Jones as apparently we now live on the street and giving it another go!”
“I’ve actually had the show’s producers contact me, so”
Guy continued by acknowledging that filming is possible because he now lives “a lot closer to Ramsay Street.”
Will Mike return, though?
