A new face with a big secret rocking Summer Bay is one of life’s few certainties, along with taxes and death.
While cast members may come and go, one thing will always be true: no one just shows up in Summer Bay seeking for a tranquil existence. For more than 30 years, Home and Away has provided viewers with a fair dose of primetime drama.
The usual scenario is that they’ve washed up on shore, unable to speak anything but Pig Latin (remember Tash Lucas), or they’ve arrived involuntarily, searching for their long-lost twin (Milco, anyone?). Not to mention the Sutherland brothers’ plot—that’s for a different day).
Thus, in typical but intriguing fashion, fans are conjecturing about the identity of a recent newcomer who is set to arrive in Summer Bay.
A “blast from the past,” actress Matilda Brown will be appearing as a guest star and is expected to bring back memories for Summer Bay favourite Mali (Kyle Shilling).
“Maybe he was unaware of his twin sister. They do appear similar,” an admirer remarked.
However, the majority of Home and Away viewers appeared to believe that, now that Mali and Rose have established themselves as a pair, the mystery woman will probably cause problems for them.
One admirer surmised, “Maybe Mali’s ex has come to cause trouble.”
Another person remarked, “Give Rose a run for her money, if she is an ex-love interest.”
Another anxious fan said, “Can we not let Rose and Mali break up? They have been through hell and they’re meant to be.”
But a devoted fan also brought up the fact that Mali’s tale mentioned that he had never dated Rose before; might this mean he’s going to be exposed for a liar?
They jokingly said, “There goes his relationship.”
