Fans of the television show Home And Away were shocked to see Leah Patterson-Baker, who is portrayed by Ada Nicodemou, wearing braces in one of the show’s older episodes.
Fans of Home And Away were astounded to see Leah Patterson-Baker wearing a brace in a previous episode.
The Ada Nicodemou-played character currently sports a wire-free smile, but in the early 2000s, she was strapped into a brace.
Many viewers, however, seem to have forgotten that the star ever wore one.
It recently came up when a fan of the Australian soap shared a vintage image of Leah, who debuted on Summer Bay in 2000, in a brace as she lay in a hospital bed.
One person claimed, “I never noticed and never knew Leah had braces on her teeth when Leah gave birth to baby Pippa.
“I mistakenly believed that braces were only worn by children or teenagers.
I didn’t see her with them when I first started watching the soap opera in 2006.
Another recalled, “I think she had them for a while.”
A few years after her initial tryout, in 2000, Ada was cast in the Australian soap opera.
When she first went through the audition process in the 1990s, Laura Vasquez won the role of Sarah Thompson.
However, it appears that she made an impression on the soap opera producers because Ada was quickly cast in the role of Leah after her name was mentioned when the role was created.
She spoke to the West Australian earlier this year about life on the soap: “I really like it here, and I’m very happy. Why would I leave such an excellent job when I have wonderful friends?
“I’ve been doing it for so long that it’s become a routine aspect of my life. I still manage to be a mother, a partner, and a worker; it’s a wonderful way of life.”
