The actor discussed the unique ways in which his Home and Away cast mates were a part of the fresh endeavour.
Although Matt Evans is best known for playing Theo Poulos in Home and Away, the actor originally rose to fame as a participant on The Voice Australia.
Two years later, the actor and singer, who is 25 years old, is “stoked” to release a new song titled Over It.
Evans appeared on The Morning Show on Friday to discuss this fascinating new phase of his career and to mark the release of the song.
“I’ve been singing for nearly ten years, and it’s been a long time in the making. I participated in The Voice and attended WAAPA (Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts) in Perth, he stated on Friday.
It’s quite fantastic because it’s what I’ve been wanting to accomplish for years.
Evans revealed that the song is about his ex-girlfriend and that he called her to inform her of its impending release.
I responded by saying, “Hey, I wrote this song, it’s coming out. I might have amplified it a little, but it’s all right, I’ve gone on.”
Because I created this song a few years ago, in 2020. So for me right now, it feels like a totally other period of time in my life.
He jokingly said, in reference to the song’s title, “So I’m so over it.”
Evans responded, “You would assume so, but she was actually extremely nice about it. It wasn’t a hard conversation to have.
“Oh that’s amazing, there’s a song out there about me,” she said.
In a few weeks, the song’s music video, which stars several of Evans’ Home and Away castmates, will be published.

Evans jokingly said, “I’ve got no money left now,” adding that his fellow actors were “extremely expensive” to employ.
He appreciates their support of his new endeavour as well as their participation in the video.
In particular, a video of actress Emily Weir dancing to the new song in her dressing room was published. Emily Weir plays Mackenzie Booth.
Evans remarked, “Look at her, she’s the best.”
Turning 35, Home and Away
Evans has become nostalgic about his personal journey while portraying Theo Poulos on the show as Home and Away celebrates its 35th anniversary this year.
“When I first started, it was so strange, but then you kind of grow used to it,” he added.
“But every so often, you check yourself, and it still feels unreal, especially if you grew up watching it every single night with your family.
“Everyone who is participating in this programme is just so wonderful, and it’s such a cool thing to be a part of. So I’m simply incredibly fortunate.
We were honestly having a great time at the beach, as you can tell from the short videos of us there.
Evans declined to comment on what Theo’s fans may anticipate from him this season.
Only that “some intense fans (of Theo’s) come along and he needs to negotiate through certain fan culture” has he revealed.
