Next week on Home and Away in the UK, Remi and Eden ask Cash for assistance in removing Bree from her abusive situation, and Roo experiences a crisis of confidence following the Heather incident.
After a last-minute change of heart, Bree’s (Juliet Godwin) attempt to flee her controlling husband Jacob (Alex Williams) appeared destined to fail last week. Bree had planned to keep Jacob happy for a few more hours before his departure and then figure out what to do next once he was gone, but she was taken aback when he said he would stay by her side rather than go back to work in Washington.
Fortunately, Bree persuaded Jacob to stay at the mines for one more rotation while she began looking for a job for him. When Jacob ultimately left, a worn-out Bree found herself on Remi’s (Adam Rowland) doorstep pleading for the assistance he had always promised her.
When the action picks back up the following week, Bree is in tears as she gives Remi an update on the circumstance and informs him that she only has three months to decide what to do.
Remi says she might be left with no choice except to call the police. until suddenly Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) knocks on the door.
Bree has no idea that Remi had earlier written Cash a note asking if he could get some advise, and Cash is simply responding to his request.
Bree is frightened to believe that Remi has spoken to someone behind her back, but he shoos Cash away after reassuring her that he hasn’t said anything and saying that he’s resolved the matter.
Once Cash is gone, Bree coerces Remi into admitting that even though he swears he wouldn’t have mentioned names, he would have confided in Cash if she hadn’t come around. He questions whether calling the police would be such a bad idea, and Bree firmly replies that she isn’t ready.
Eden (Stephanie Panozzo) is passed by Bree as she leaves to go to work.
Eden subsequently tells Cash that a friend of her is in an abusive relationship after having the same thought as Remi. Cash says that while anyone can file a complaint if they personally observe any violence, if no one does, it is up to the victim to do it.
Later, Bree apologises and says she misses Jacob for the person he used to be. He was the one who helped her pay for her living expenses while she attended medical school. Remi cautions her that, as admirable it may have been, it does not give Jacob permission to abuse her.
Remi and Eden can’t help but express their dismay when Bree subsequently decides to pick up a call from Jacob, and Bree decides to leave rather than face their criticism. Bree is subsequently caught up to by Eden, who warns her not to push Remi away after asking him for assistance.
Later, Bree returns and expresses her gratitude to both Remi and Eden; she’s not used to someone watching out for her.
Eden starts to fear that Remi is approaching too closely, too.
In other parts of Summer Bay, Roo (Georgie Parker) is beginning to question her skills as a private tutor in light of the whole Heather (Sofia Nolan) disaster.
As Heather frequently found herself at odds with Marilyn, Roo had constantly chosen her side (Emily Symons). Roo ultimately discovered that Heather was actually Marilyn’s long-lost daughter who had been pursuing a vengeance campaign against her when she and the others found themselves drugged and taken captive.
Roo discovers herself ignoring a message from a new prospective pupil while Marilyn is moving on by donating her services at a community kitchen in the city, which she sees as her atoning for disappointing Heather.
When Marilyn inquires about it, Roo responds that her interaction with Heather has made things difficult and that she will be closing the tutoring centre. How can Roo work with people when she is such a poor judge of character, especially when Marilyn had been telling her for weeks about Heather?
Marilyn reminds Roo of what she had said her about deserving a second chance after she had fled to the city; surely Roo owed that to herself as well?
Marilyn gets a call from Heather’s attorney while Heather’s fate is ultimately made known. Heather has been admitted to a mental health facility after being found unfit to face trial. Marilyn is angry, but believes Heather will now receive the assistance she requires.
Will Heather ever be mentioned again?
