When Mackenzie from Home and Away learns that Gabe has cancer, she will experience heartache.
Gabe avoids the problem by declining testing to confirm the cancer’s reappearance as Bree offers him counselling.
A frazzled Gabe tells Mackenzie that he’s not ready and leaves after she asks him to move in with her and surprises him with a romantic cocktail.
When Dean confronts Gabe about how he handled Mac, Gabe acknowledges that his Non-Hodgkin lymphoma has probably come back.
To keep Mackenzie from learning the truth, Gabe wants to end their relationship and begs Dean not to inform her.
Gabe eventually tells Mac everything when Dean is unable to keep it a secret any longer.
Later, when Gabe informs her that he won’t be getting follow-up testing or chemo, she is astonished and devastated.
Gabe agrees to undergo the tests after Mac makes a sincere request, and if it turns out to be cancer, he will fight it.
While Ziggy transitions to a better way of life, Dean is working to maintain her happiness elsewhere.
Dean complies with Ziggy’s request to wash his hands before checking on Izzy, but Ziggy storms out to tend to the infant.
Dean discovers Marilyn has been hired to assist “detox” the house, dashing his hopes that Ziggy will calm down.
Later, Dean acknowledges that he was also alarmed when Izzy fell unwell, but warns that if they continue to be anxious, the baby will sense it.
The two decide to tweak a few things but not drastically.
When Bella unexpectedly shows up at Dean and Ziggy’s home and says she came to visit the baby before leaving again, they are taken aback.
Bella avoids Dean’s inquiries about Nikau, but when she runs into him, they have a conversation.
Nikau is saddened when she quickly explains that her life is wonderful now and that it wouldn’t be if they were still together.
Nikau wants to make amends after the two argue once more, but Bella is adamant that she has moved on with her life.
The two enter into a routine as Bella shares tales from her new life, becoming at ease in each other’s presence and wanting to hang out more.
Tane finishes packing up Felicity’s remaining possessions and texts her to come pick everything up.
Felicity, who had just received Tane’s text, explodes in wrath at Cash, who had just shown in to check on her.
Felicity, assuming he was sent by Tane, makes a huge deal out of affording him the opportunity to check her van for alcohol before instructing him to leave her alone.
Later, a distraught Felicity decides to give Eden a drink instead of her, and when Tane and Cash arrive for dinner, she makes the decision to throw them both out.
The following day, an inebriated Felicity picks up her belongings without incident, but when she notices Cash operating an RBT, she makes a U-turn in an effort to get away from the authorities.
Cash and Rose pursue Felicity as she tries to escape the roadside alcohol test while intoxicated and uneasy.
Felicity is horrified to find that her licence will be banned for three months after taking the test and failing it.
Later, when she sees her brother, Felicity breaks down and begs for his forgiveness while knowing that she doesn’t deserve it.
She begs him not to bring up the crash again because it hurts too much as they share an intense embrace.
Mali and Rose are conversing while enjoying each other’s company when he receives a message that worries him.
Everything is going well as he enjoys a BBQ at Mali’s until he receives a second enigmatic call.
Mali discloses it’s his sister when Rose calls him out, and if he doesn’t pick up, his entire family will start calling.
Mali captivates Rose, who spends the night.
Meanwhile, Justin is furious to find that Ava’s project hasn’t been started while she is out with Theo when he gets home.
Ava successfully convinces Theo to return home so that her dad won’t be too hard on her. Kirby goes over to ask Theo if she wants to go for a walk during her break.
A furious Justin welcomes Ava home and confronts her.
Theo tries to warn Kirby that Ava harbours affections for him when she informs him about Ava’s issues with Justin.
But he denies it, saying Ava simply came to Summer Bay to settle things with her father.
Ava makes a pointed remark about how much his admirers adore him, and Kirby holds her tongue, but later she tells the youngster that sometimes a crush is only a fantasy and isn’t genuine.
Angered and hurt Kirby is informed by Ava that no one requested her input.
Kirby, who is still in denial and believes there is nothing wrong with Ava because she is only a child, tells Theo that he needs to take care of her.
They are unaware that Ava is hearing and dislikes the label being placed on her.
Ava recommends that they attend Shark Alley’s performance tonight after hearing Theo’s words in her brain.
Ava claims she will sneak in, but Kirby quickly points out that the gig is at an establishment where patrons must be at least 18 years old.
That evening, during their quarrel, Justin steals Ava’s phone.
A furious Ava tells Justin that it is too late for him to win father of the year because he hasn’t been in her life for so long.
Justin discovers his daughter’s room empty as he tries to reconcile with her.
When a panicked Justin calls asking for Ava, Theo and Kirby are just ready to leave Salt.
Ava shows up at that precise moment in an attempt to join the party and her shenanigans continue when she makes an unsuccessful drink order.
When Theo stops her and gives them the slip before Justin arrives, Ava feels betrayed. Where has she gone?
