What are the Home and Away actors doing for the holidays now that they’ve packed away the surfboards and beach towels?
Christmas spirit is in abundance when TV WEEK spends the day having fun with the Home and Away cast. We get in the mood with music, football tackles, and lots of summertime fun.
A group called Lyrik came in Summer Bay earlier this year. Fans of Matt Evans, who competed on The Voice in 2020 before joining H&A, saw the plot as a chance for him to showcase his musical abilities.
Matt tells TV WEEK, “I had so much fun as the front guy [of Lyrik].
I had the impression that I was doing something I hadn’t been able to accomplish in a while.
Theo Poulos has been performed by the young actor since 2021, and it has been a big two years for him.
Matt was nominated for the Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent at the TV WEEK Logie Awards this year, the reality of which still hasn’t sunk in.
The Logie nomination, he admits, “was obviously good to be recognised by others, but it was more for me, to say ‘You’re doing OK’ and to keep striving.”
My life has changed so dramatically that I frequently need to stop and think about it in order to be thankful for what I have.
Although Matt’s star may be shining bright, his attention is on getting the job done.
He adds that his co-stars are his “pillars of support,” saying, “My aim is that Theo gets involved in more dramatic storylines, so I get to challenge myself more and develop to the best of my ability.”
He praises Jimmy (James Stewart), who plays his aunt Leah, and Ada (Nicodemou), who also portrays her.
“They taught me all I know,” I said.”
I get along best with Jimmy among the cast. We have a long-standing working connection because I frequently get to interact with him. Ray [Meagher] is consistently amiable and humorous. He tells some hilarious jokes.
