Several cast members felt it was only appropriate to commemorate the show’s 35th anniversary with unique notes that they shared only with Metro.co.uk. In these messages, they look back on the past triumphs of the programme and share their favourite parts of working on it.

Ray Meagher, who plays Alf Stewart and is a series legend, declared, “If you’ve been under a rock somewhere, you haven’t read anything, or you haven’t heard anything, we are celebrating our 35th birthday!

“And look, I just want to say a very huge happy birthday to everyone who has ever worked on this programme or been associated with this beautiful show.”

Ray’s words were repeated to a great extent by Lynne McGranger, who said: “What do I appreciate about being on the show? every single thing! All the fantastic individuals and experiences I’ve met over the years. Cheers to Home and Away’s birthday!

Marilyn Chambers’ actress Emily Symons echoed the sentiments of her coworkers and added: “I want to say happy birthday to our beautiful cast, our wonderful crew, and my Home and Away family.”

Luke Van Os, who plays Xander Delaney, quickly wished the Channel 5 soap opera a “huge happy birthday” and showered praise on all of the crew members, giving the make-up artists a special mention.

I feel so fortunate to be working on this show, he declared. “My favourite part is the morning and evening conversations I have with all the make-up artists.” They are simply the best support since they stay later than I do. Let’s rock it and wish them and everyone else a happy birthday!

The actress who portrays Xander’s sister Rose, Kirsty Marillier, shared an intriguing filming-related information with us, saying: “One of the things I enjoy best about Summer Bay is that I get partnered with all of the tall, tall males in the show.” So, occasionally, in order to match their height, I have to stand on an apple box!

Ada Nicodemou, who plays Leah Patterson, and Emily Weir, who plays Mackenzie Booth, both made special notice of the show’s viewers and expressed their gratitude for the devoted following.

We’re celebrating 35 years, it’s our birthday, so it’s just incredibly amazing, said Leah. Thank you very much for watching the show, you guys, the fans, are the finest part of the celebrations. If not for you, the show wouldn’t exist.

She said, “The fans! Thank you; we adore you. We have been going for so long because of you.

The actor who portrays John Palmer, Shane Withington, made fun of the fact that his favourite aspect of working on Home and Away is the one-of-a-kind mode of transportation that Summer Bay could only provide for filming.

I believe sailing to work is, quite frankly, my favourite part of being on the programme,’ he exclaimed.
