Away from Home Adam Willits, who plays Steven Matheson, was a founding member of the soap opera. The Daily Star looks at the actor’s current life.
When Adam Willits first appeared on our televisions in 1988 as Home and Away adolescent Steven Matheson, he rapidly won over fans.
The actor played Steven, who relocated to Summer Bay after his parents Brett and Martha died in a house fire, in Home and Away from 1988 until 1991.
Steven was raised by Tom and Pippa Fletcher and has romantic relationships with other residents, including Narelle Smart, Jennifer Atkinson, and Viv Newton.
Prior to leaving Summer Bay in 1991 to begin life at the university, the character also experienced further sadness when his Uncle Phillip passed away.

Between 1995 and 2008, however, Steven actor Adam returned to the serial opera for a series of appearances, when his role was changed to that of a teacher at Summer Bay High School.
Since leaving the drama, Adam has landed a variety of acting parts outside of Home and Away, including as Ivan Quinn in the television series All Saints and The writer in Room 14.

He had significant roles in the 1984 TV series The Maestro’s Company before landing the role of Steven in Home and Away, and he played Mr. Scratch in the 1985 movie Mad Max: Beyond The Thunderdome.
His future co-star Rebekah Elmaloglou, who portrayed Sophie Simpson on the serial opera, also acted in Max Max: Beyond the Thunderdome as Gatherer, therefore he is not the only Home and Away actor to have been in the movie.

Adam’s final acknowledged position on IMDB is described as a policeman in the 2014 TV series The Rake, but it is rumoured that he has since quit acting and is now employed in the insurance sector.
Adam’s marital status and current romantic relationships are unknown due to the actor’s apparent preference for maintaining a low profile.
