Beginning on January 30, Home and Away is going to have a dramatic week as life and the ghost of death collide into Summer Bay.

The most adored pair on Australian television welcomes a new member into the family when Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) and Dean (Paddy O’Connor) give birth to a child.

But as Ziggy’s unpredictable pregnancy comes to a close, a more unexpected visitor surprises the newlyweds.

When Dean’s controlling mother Karen (Georgia Adamson) shows around, Ziggy miscarries before Dean and Ziggy can come up with a strategy to get rid of her.

Dean is left to take care of his mother, who has camped out at the birthing suite, as the terrified expectant mother goes into labour.

Despite Karen’s intervention, everyone is happy to see Baby Thompson enter the world.

But as the new parents encounter their greatest obstacle yet, the joy proves to be fleeting.

Cop-turned-vigilante When Cash Newman (Nicholas Cartwright) is abducted and taken to a hidden location at the command of bikie top dog Tex, he finds his life hanging by a thread (Lucas Linehan).

In preparation for a terrible last encounter, Tex, who recently escaped prison and has a score to settle with Cash, keeps Summer Bay’s resident cop at gunpoint.

All hope appears to be lost because he is disoriented and has no one to help him escape the ruthless goons.
