Could the soap be going a few years ahead?
Ryan Moloney, a star of Neighbours, has hinted that there might be a time leap when the soap opera returns this year.
When it was announced at the close of the previous year that the Australian show would be returning, despite its prior cancellation and subsequent finale last summer, fans were astonished and overjoyed.
While specifics about the Amazon Freevee revival, such as when it will begin, are yet unknown, Moloney, who will reprise his role as Toadie Rebecchi in the new season, has hinted that it may advance the plot of the serial opera by a few years.
He told the Sunday Post, “We’re supposed to start filming in April, and it’ll go on air later in the year.” “They claimed that they were considering possibly skipping a few years, but I’m not sure.
Apart from Alan, Jackie, Stefan, and myself, I have no idea who else is returning. The interesting part, I suppose, is that I anticipate scripts to start arriving in our inboxes while we’re on the tour, so it’ll be, “Guess what I read today? I am unable to tell you!
As previously noted, in addition to Moloney, Neighbours has announced the return of Stefan Dennis (Paul Robinson), Jackie Woodburne (Susan Kennedy), and Alan Fletcher (Karl Kennedy).
We’re going to do all we can – in front of and behind the camera – to ensure that we’re producing a consistent series, said Lauren Anderson, head of content and programming at Amazon Studios, in a December interview with Variety.
“We are keeping the programme running at least at the level that the audience has enjoyed for the past 37 years. For us, maintaining the show’s popularity among fans who already enjoy it is of utmost importance.
