Since Nancy Carter (Maddy Hill) left Walford, EastEnders sisters Frankie Lewis (Rose Ayling-Ellis) and Nancy Carter (Maddy Hill) are no longer together. Strictly Come Dancing champion Rose already misses her pal and “sister” Maddy, as she made clear on her Instagram stories.

I adore you, Maddy Hill 90! She posted a picture of them together and the caption, “Best on-screen sister ever.” “I already miss you loads,” you might say.

Rose also shared a message from James Farrar, who portrays Zack Hudson on the soap opera, in which we learn that Maddy’s farewell celebration included a performance of the song “Total Eclipse of the Heart” by Bonnie Tyler.

In recently broadcast scenes, Maddy left EastEnders after Nancy made the decision to leave Walford after her boyfriend Zack had an affair with Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf) and she was struggling to deal with her mother Linda’s alcoholism.

After bidding her on-screen family, Mick (Danny Dyer), Shirley (Linda Henry), and of course Frankie, a tearful farewell, she departed Albert Square in the traditional black cab. During Maddy Hill’s second tenure in the role, which she began playing in 2014, a key plotline has been Nancy coming to know her half-sister Frankie.

It’s been wonderful going back to Nancy and the Square over the past year, but Maddy Hill said it felt like the perfect moment to move on for the time being. “I already miss everyone and am so appreciative of the opportunity to work with those I like.”
