Although Gary Windass from Coronation Street is a beloved character, he has a troubled past.
Following Monday’s ITV soap opera episode, fans of Coronation Street predicted that Mikey North’s character Gary Windass would kill once more.
Despite being a decent man in the end, Gary is also a killer because he killed villain Rick Neelan (Greg Wood) to protect himself.
Even though he has since avoided trouble with the law, viewers were left with the impression that he might have made a mistake in handling the bully that was bullying his stepson Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall).
In the most recent episode, a group of bullies were torturing schoolboy Liam, accusing him of stealing a classmate’s trainers.
Liam declined to tell the truth, but his stepdad Gary and mother Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) could tell it was too strange for Liam to be true.
Later on, Liam confirmed the two’s suspicions that he was a double for someone when he said he’d sooner be kicked out than be “a grass.”
Maria was hesitant to tell Liam’s teachers behind her son’s back, even though Gary wanted to.
Gary made the decision to handle things himself after informing Maria that he wouldn’t be letting it go.
Later on, Gary discovered that Liam has been being bullied by Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan).
“I know you stole the trainers,” Gary told the schoolboy.
“They found them in Liam’s locker,” Mason argued before Gary replied: “It was you who put them there.”
“And who’s told you that?” Mason asked, to which Gary admitted: “No one, I just know Liam.
“But also, I know lads like you – I’ll tell you what, you stay away from Liam and we’re done, but if not I imagine you’ll be seeing a lot more of me, and next time I won’t be so friendly.”
It didn’t take long for fans to predict a dark twist for Gary, with many taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to predict he could go as far as killing Mason.
