There are a few guidelines that Mitchells on EastEnders are expected to adhere to at all times.
The first rule is to avoid involving the police in anything at all.
Second, avoid morphing into grass.
In response to DI Keeble’s offer that he can become a police informant to avoid going to jail, it’s the second one that Phil (Steve McFadden) has been thinking about nonstop over the past few months.
Phil has been in prison since he rejected Keeble’s offer, but he just changed his mind after putting his life in jeopardy.
After being released from prison and returning to Walford, Phil is surprised to see that Kat (Jessie Wallace) has moved back into apartment number 31, and despite his entreaties, she swears it’s over between them.
When Sharon locates Phil, she tries to speak with him, but Keeble pulls him away.
DI Keeble reminds him that she is in charge and states her requests during the meeting.
