“I will not call you again.”
There are spoilers for Wednesday’s Australian episodes of Home and Away (April 5) that some UK viewers might want to escape.
After a three-week hiatus, Mackenzie Booth from Home and Away made her comeback to Australian television on Wednesday.
After taking a break in the wake of her boyfriend Gabe Miller’s shocking departure, Mackenzie returned to the Astoni estate.
Gabe observed how difficult it was for Mackenzie to accept the news that his cancer had resurfaced last month.
Gabe sent Mac on a quick errand so that he could prepare his bags while she was gone, but he was worried that he would soon become a burden. Later, when Mac returned, she was horrified to see that Gabe had abandoned her and left behind a farewell letter.
When Mac realised she required her own break from the Bay, she confided in her new friend Mali Hudson and packed her bag as well.
Mac battled to get back to normal in Wednesday’s triple bill of episodes in Australia after returning home for the first time in weeks.
Apart from Mali, few of Mac’s Bay-area acquaintances were aware that her relationship with Gabe had yet again come to an end.
But when people began to observe that Mac was acting strangely, she reluctantly told Tane Parata about it, and he spread the word.
Gabe received a steady stream of calls from Mac, who also left him several ignored voicemails.
An emotional Mac finally accepted that she had no choice but to let Gabe go after having a heart-to-heart with her unlikely friend John Palmer.
Gabe, it’s me, Mac said in a message that appeared to be his last. You triumph. I’ll continue living my existence in the manner you desire.
“It aches even now. I still long for a better outcome. However, I won’t contact you again. I cherish you.
Is this actually Mac’s final opportunity to talk with Gabe?
In May, Channel 5 will air these sequences for Home and Away viewers in the UK.
