Kelly Neelan, a troubled teen from Coronation Street, is about to learn something tragic about her father Rick Neelan just before she leaves.
Kelly Neelan (played by Millie Gibson) was a troubled teen who ended up hanging out with the wrong crowd when she first appeared on Coronation Street. Kelly has had to deal with homelessness and the passing of both of her parents, Rick and Laura Neelan (Greg Wood), in addition to almost being found guilty of murdering Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) (Kel Allen). Since then, Kelly has found fulfillment in her life with Gary Windass (Mikey North), who felt bad for killing her father.Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) and Kelly recently announced their engagement after realizing their feelings for one another, but Kelly’s world is about to implode when she learns something shocking.
Aadi unintentionally tells Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) that he and Kelly intend to wed in Gretna Green in upcoming scenes.
Dev is shocked by his son’s sudden action, and a heated argument ensues as he demands to know why Aadi wants to tie himself to someone like Kelly.
Kelly makes the decision to host an engagement party in an effort to win Dev round and show how serious they are about one another.
Gary, in an effort to assist, tells Dev that failing to accept Aadi and Kelly’s union could result in the complete loss of his son. Will Dev overburden his son?
Gary offers to contribute to the wedding because he understands how much it would mean to Kelly. Kelly is moved by Gary’s generosity, but Maria (Samia Longchambon) has her doubts about the union.
Kelly starts organizing the extravagant engagement party with the money she received from her inheritance, but she soon overhears Maria saying Kelly will grow tired of Aadi after the party is over.
Sharon Bently (Tracie Bennett), who shows up to join in the fun, is cornered by Gary before she can enter to ask her not to ruin Kelly’s night.

Aadi soon slips up again and admits Kelly’s kidnapping incident, leading Kelly to ask Gary to turn her in and horrifying Sharon.
Later, Kelly finds a digital camera in a holdall containing her mother’s belongings that she left behind in Spain.
She is shocked to learn that the holiday is scheduled for June 17, 2019, the day her father was killed.
Kelly claims she wants to know who actually killed her father when she gets home and shows Gary the pictures. Has Gary’s secret finally been revealed?
Iain McLeod, the show’s producer, recently shared details about the explosive plot line in which Kelly will leave Weatherfield.
“We thought, well actually, the fact that Millie is going and that Kelly is going as a result, allows us to go really big and do something extremely high stakes,” he said.
“To possibly have some characters step on all these landmines that we have buried for them over the years and set them off in one catastrophic explosion.
“What we’ve done is make this amazing rooftop sequence with a kind of glowing cityscape in the background.
“So that we can perform actions that would not typically be possible during a location shoot.
“You don’t need to use stunt performers to put real actors in what seems like very real danger.”
Kelly’s departure from the soap opera is still a closely-guarded secret, but it may involve her discovering the truth about Rick.
