After a pivotal moment in the aftermath of Ben’s rape plot, EastEnders viewers are hoping that Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) and partner Callum Highway (Tony Clay) will soon reconnect.

Ben was unable to explain what occurred to Callum when Lewis (Aidan O’Callaghan) attacked him.

As a result, Callum, his friends, and his family came to believe Ben had slept with Lewis.

Ben tried using pills to attempt and numb his feelings as the trauma went on, but after abusing them excessively, he ended himself in the hospital.

Most recently, Ben decided he would go to the police after very nearly shooting Lewis during a confrontation to report his attack.

After some initial hesitancy, Ben told his hubby what actually transpired with Lewis at the station as Callum entered.

Ben informed another police officer of the crime, and then he and Callum spent some time together in the Square talking about the previous few months.

Callum made it apparent that he wanted to get back together, but Ben was determined to show Lewis, who had made some nasty remarks about him being “bad,” that he was different. As a result, he told Callum that it was over, adding that the cop is “such a good guy” and deserves more.

Max Bowden has been talking to Inside Soap Magazine about what the future holds for this relationship and whether or not they will have a happy ending as Callum continues to support Ben.

“I’d like to think there’s some hope, but who knows what the future holds?” Ben and Callum’s affection for one another will never fade.

The actors who portray Kathy Beale and Phil Mitchell, the parents of Ben, are Gillian Taylforth and Steve McFadden, with whom Max has also collaborated frequently recently.

Max beams and says, “Gilly is fantastic; she’s a gift.”

“We have a lot of fun together. She always says, “You s*d,” when I do anything wrong and try to get in her line of sight. She goes on singing constantly, and we call her Jukebox Gillian. Any thing you say will be the subject of a song from her!

He continued, “I always get delighted when I see that I have an eight-page scene with Steve McFadden. Every time I’m on a set, I learn something from him. Even though the actor has played Phil for more than 32 years and has performed every role imaginable in a soap opera, he continues to put in just as much effort.

He is, in my opinion, the best actor in soap operas.
