EastEnders actress Samantha Womack has revealed new details about her ongoing battle with breast cancer, revealing she is now resting at home following surgery.
The Ronnie Mitchell star shared the news on Instagram yesterday (August 18), writing next to a photo of a bowl of soup: “Recovering from breast cancer surgery. In the morning, my love makes me turmeric and ginger, and in the evening, he makes me homemade butternut squash soup. [three heart emojis] I’m feeling loved and grateful.”

Womack, who represented the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1991, was diagnosed with cancer less than two weeks ago.
She did so by posting a photo of herself with the late great Olivia Newton-John.
“This was the most magical of evenings,” she began her caption. “Olivia and [her daughter] Chloe had come to London to see Grease, and we had dinner together afterward. She was my childhood, and I was so excited and in awe of her. I am now beginning my own battle with this disease and am deeply moved.”
