While Marlon (Mark Charnock) and Rhona’s (Zoe Henry) wedding was the main narrative on tonight’s Emmerdale, other stories, such as Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and Al’s (Michael Wildman) romance, continued in the background.
To put it simply, Al’s behavior of Chas over the past few weeks has been abhorrent.
They agreed to keep their relationship strictly sexual with no other sentiments involved, but Al still walks around with a smug grin on his face because he believes Chas is constantly staring at him.
Tonight, when Chas was leaving the bar garden, Al came over. He was surprised by her clothing and couldn’t help but make a few remarks.
Chas afterwards took a break and sat by himself on a bench outside the pub because he was anxious about Marlon being in the hospital and perhaps being late for the wedding.
Once more, Al showed very quickly and informed Chas that his home was unoccupied.
Al questioned Chas, “My house is empty, no one will miss you for an hour, will they?”
Chas was aware that she would not be missed for an hour, despite Al’s tone throughout that exchange suggesting otherwise.
Chas was treated horribly by Al, who went inside while leaving the door ajar in anticipation of her arrival, which she did.
Paddy was in the pub, worried about his speech and wondered where his wife had gone as Chas and Al proceeded to spend time with each other.
Chas deceived Paddy when she came back, saying she had a headache and needed to go for a stroll.
poor Paddy The cherished character was ignorant that his wife had begun to feel strongly for a man who believes he knows how to treat a woman; instead, he just accepted Chas’ explanation for missing the speech and wanted to dance with her.
