After receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis earlier this year, the character is living on borrowed time. In a heartbreaking plotline, she has asked Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Faith is relieved that Moira has not revealed her plans to end her life to her husband Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) in yet-to-air scenes.
But even as her cancer battle gets worse, she still seems determined for Moira to support her at the very end.
While Moira cares about her mother-in-law and wants the best for her, she is unwilling to assist with her tragic request.
As Faith’s condition continues to deteriorate, Moira is troubled to realize that time is running out.
Later, when Moira finally gives in and agrees to stand by her side until the very end, Faith is overcome with emotion.
A distraught Moira sobs over her choice, hoping that it was the best one for Faith.
The next day, Moira is uneasy about Cain’s insistence on arranging hospice care for his dying mother even though she is aware that Faith won’t require it.
a constructive Faith arranges a fun day out for her loved ones, but the conversation between Cain and her daughter Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) about hospice care marred the occasion.
A frail Faith begins to feel bad about lying to her kids.
Later, Moira asks Faith to reveal her death-related plans, but Faith responds that she can’t because doing so would make her look guilty because aiding suicide is illegal.
Faith is adamant that she wants to pick the time and have some say in how she passes away.
When her daughter-in-law realizes what she has committed to doing for Faith, she is left in a state of terror.
Will Moira actually help Faith with her heartbreaking request?
It wouldn’t be the first time a Dingle had to ask a family member for assistance during a difficult time.
Fans of Emmerdale will remember how Sam Dingle, played by James Hooton, was inconsolable when his wife Alice, played by Ursula Holden-Gill, passed away from terminal cancer.
Soon after the birth of their son Samson Dingle (Sam Hall), she passed away after Sam assisted her in taking an overdose of morphine.
Even though the police were looking into the circumstances surrounding her death, Sam never received a prison sentence.
Sam and his current partner Lydia Hart frequently pay homage to Sam’s late wife’s grave by decorating it with flowers (Karen Blick).
In 2018, Sam admitted to Lydia that he played a part in his late wife’s demise, but Lydia stuck by him.
