Every time a Home and Away actor leaves the Bay, it is a sad occasion. Even though 2022 isn’t even halfway over, it seems like beloved characters have left the popular soap opera this year.
While some celebrities have formally announced their departures and stopped filming altogether, some of their last scenes have not yet been broadcast.

Lukas Radovich
After five wonderful years in Summer Bay, Lukas said goodbye to his fellow cast members and crew in May. Although the 27-year-old actor’s final episode on the soap opera was broadcast on Thursday night, he shot his final scenes in December.
Since 2017, he has played Ryder, a character who left the Bay with his mother Quinn to work as a casino croupier on a cruise ship.
For their support over the previous five years, Lukas thanked his co-stars and fans on Instagram, writing: “What a thrilling ride. I’ll keep this short because I can’t really put into words how the past five years have affected or felt in my life.” I’ll miss my job, but I’ll miss the people more than anything. I want to thank @tony gardiner in particular for directing my final block with compassion.
“And many thanks to the SHOW’s fans, who helped to make the experience unforgettable. In the meantime, see you on the other side.”
Harley Bonner
Although his final episodes of Home and Away didn’t air until June, Harley Bonner, who is the son of Neighbours actress Carla Bonner, confirmed his departure from the show on January 11.
“I’m grateful and I love you all. I’m overjoyed. Life is good. Keep being kind to people “He announced his departure via Instagram.
Given that more seemed to be in store for Harley’s character Logan, who had only joined the soap in August 2021, his departure from the show in the early days of January came as a surprise.
Logan and Emily Weir’s Mackenzie Booth, another character, had just started dating.
However, on June 6, just days before he was falsely accused of being dangerous, Logan was written out of the story when he learned the truth about Mackenzie’s financial difficulties
driving.
The protagonist made the startling choice to depart from Summer Bay and head back to his former life.
Courtney Miller
Courtney, who played teenager Bella Nixon since November 2018, also left the soap in 2022, with her final scenes airing in early June.
Her character Bella, a photography-enthusiast, said her goodbyes to Summer Bay after being offered a job opportunity in New York.
Marking the exit on her own Instagram, Courtney shared a series of throwback shots from her time on the soap, along with some touching words about her experience.
“To the time of my life. 📸. Thank-you @homeandaway. Forever & always your Bella. But most importantly… to the loved ones I made. Big shoutout to @lucyaddario @sophbabs @louise.bowes @brodietmacpherson and Julie ❤️,” she penned.
Sam Frost
Sam Frost’s departure from Home and Away this year was arguably one of the most shocking and tragic. The former Bachelorette revealed in February that she had left her role as Jasmine Delaney after five years to attend to her mental health.
“In order to take care of my mental health, I left my dream job at Home and Away. After months of speculation about her motive for leaving the soap, Sam finally admitted in February that she needed to take a step back, go home, and be with her family.
The most important thing is to look after my health and wellbeing. I now spend my days doing the things I’ve always wanted to do but couldn’t because I was too busy with the people I love driving
“I spent 4.5 years missing important milestones as a sister, a distant friend, and a distant girlfriend. I’m making up for lost time right now.”
Sam left Home and Away after receiving criticism for saying she wouldn’t be receiving the COVID vaccine.
Sam made the announcement that she would be getting the shot but wouldn’t have both shots until February after Channel Seven announced that all employees would need to be fully immunized.
But after only a few weeks, she left the program.
Rob Kipa-Williams
This year, Rob Kipa-Williams left Home and Away as well; his final scenes as Ari Parata were broadcast in March.
After the episode aired, Rob said goodbye to the program and his beloved character on Instagram. He also took the opportunity to express his hopes for the future of Home and Away.
He wrote in the caption, “Thank you to the fans for all the love and crazy amounts of messages and support.
“Thank you to everyone who made the wheels turn, including the cast, crew, camera, directors, production, writing, makeup, art department, and everyone else in between.”
Rob shared a video montage of himself and his co-stars touring the set one last time a day before his final scene was broadcast.
“A final trip down memory lane. Tomorrow will deliver a crushing blow to you, “He made fun. Which set did I omit to pass through?
Just over two years with the show came to an end with Rob’s departure, after his character Ari made his debut in the 2019 season finale.

Sam Barrett
Sam Barrett’s final scenes, in which her character Chloe bid farewell to Summer Bay in order to be with her mother in New Zealand, aired on July 21.
Fan favorite Theo Poulos actor Matt Evans wished Sam well on Instagram.
“Sammy, I’ll miss your eccentricity and kind heart at the bay. Bye for now. was a real pleasure working with you, “Matt captioned his touching homage.
On the well-liked soap opera, Ethan Browne plays Tane Parata. He also shared a photo of himself with Kawakawa Fox Reo and Sam.
Ethan wrote with affection, “And like that we say ka kite and farewell to the niece.”
After attending four different Home and Away auditions, the 22-year-old was offered the part of Mia’s daughter in February 2021.
