“I doubt our family will ever grant us forgiveness,”
Sophie Dillman and Patrick O’Connor, one of Home and Away’s most popular on-screen couples, have made hints that a real-life wedding may be imminent.
The couple, who play Dean Thompson and Ziggy Astoni on the well-liked Channel 7 programme, has been dating since 2019.
Dillman recently suggested to New Idea that they might simply “elope in Vegas” to bypass the customary pressures and hassles associated with wedding planning.
She remarked, “I’ve recently had a few girlfriends get married and watching them go through all the stress of arranging huge days.
“Perhaps we’ll just get married in Vegas!
“The complete Elvis drive-through wedding experience in Las Vegas!”
The notion, however, was swiftly shot down by O’Connor, who declared: “I don’t think our families will ever forgive us!”
The couple met in an acting school in Queensland and now lives together in the east of Sydney.
Their innate chemistry on set led to a genuine romance after they were both cast in the Home and Away television series.
Ziggy and Dean are getting ready for the birth of their child in the TV drama, and the actors claim that this experience inspired them to talk about kids in real life.
In a recent exclusive interview, Dillman said, “I feel extremely privileged being able to practise all of the pregnancy aspects without the actual pregnancy.”
“You know, Ziggy had it all. She had nausea, exhaustion, mood swings, discomfort, Braxton Hicks, and everything like that.
Going through all of that, especially with your spouse in real life, actually sparks a lot of discussion that, in my opinion, few people would have unless they were visibly sporting a fake baby tummy.
“We don’t want to do it right now, but we will surely look into it in the future.
Therefore, having fun with all the hypotheticals.
O’Connor claimed that bringing their cavoodle pet Winnie into the house served as a “practise run” for beginning a family.
He told New Idea, “He’s just the best little dude ever, and it was the first time I’ve had someone absolutely rely on me.
So, knowing that starting our own family is the direction we want to go in definitely helped.
