After Cash tried to give Eden’s engagement ring back to her, Home and Away fans couldn’t help but poke fun at one aspect of the dramatic scene.
Home and Away fans are cluey little devils when it comes to watching their favourite shows, whether it’s pointing out hidden details or making fun of outrageous storylines that would simply never work properly in real life. From Northern Districts hospital somehow being the most easily accessed hospital on the planet, to the fact that Justin’s mechanic shop seems to only operate sporadically, viewers have now taken to social media to point out another hilarious error within the show.
Let’s be honest, we’ve all had days where we want to up and leave work with no notice and go self-soothe by the beach or whatever. Most of us, as adults, have to deal with the fact things don’t always go our way and have to stay put in our jobs regardless of whatever emotional turmoil we’re going through. Maybe, if we’re lucky, we’ll get a five-minute cry in a toilet cubicle.
Over in Summer Bay though, they don’t have to worry about what it looks like to leave your job on a whim. Sure, they have to worry about many other things — stalkers, cults, shootings, car crashes, freak accidents. But if they get into a temper tantrum at work and want to storm out? Totally fine.
Home and Away fans poke fun at Eden’s work ethic
This has led to Home and Away fans poking fun at Eden’s recent dramas of the week as she tries to navigate life post-breakup with Cash who is now, unfortunately, trying to run her workplace, Salt. And just after she finally got a job and everything!
Cash decided to swing by Salt recently, and figured it was a great time to stop Eden in the middle of her shift (“The tables can wait,” he said gravely) and give back her engagement ring. Sounds like an absolute HR issue to me, but whatever.
When Eden asked what she was supposed to do with the ring, and Cash replied she could keep it or sell it, she stormed out, saying, “You know what, boss? I think I’m going to go home,” which is giving “me at 7:59am” energy.
Despite the iconic behaviour of just telling your new boss who is also your ex-fiancé to shove it, Home and Away fans can’t help but make fun of the situation given it’s not the first time Eden has just decided to up and leave work.
“The amount of times she just walks out of work 😂,” one person remarked. “No consideration for the other staff making them pick up her slack.”
“She’s such a drama queen,” another fan agreed. “Once again just walks out of the work. Wish she’d go.”
But is Summer Bay actually the perfect place to live?
This isn’t the first time Home and Away fans have noticed the characters drop everything and just up and leave their businesses when they want to, with Leah, Marilyn, and Irene all guilty of it at the diner, as well as Justin and Theo at the mechanic shop.
God, sometimes even the doctors just up and leave mid-shift.
“Tbf they all just walk out at the drop of a hat. Stellar example on how to run a business…into the ground,” one person joked.
“Not sure how any business in the Bay is still running actually,” another person commented.
Fans have joked previously about wanting to live in Summer Bay due to the relaxed nature. No one is girl-bossing over here or wasting time stressing out over spreadsheets!
“Who needs money in Summer Bay?” one person joked on a Home and Away live thread in recent months. “I need to go and live there!” someone commented in response.
“Like a garage that doesn’t operate for six months, then mysteriously reappears as a functioning business,” another person pointed out about Justin’s garage. (Well, functioning until he’s being scammed, I guess.)
