Lyrik celebrates creating their first music video this week as Home and Away returns to UK television, but its publication has significant repercussions because it puts an end to Tane and Felicity’s engagement.
As the band approaches a significant turning point in their career, problems with Remi (Adam Rowland) and Eden (Stephanie Panozzo) pose a risk of squandering a significant chance.
Eden and Remi have been at odds ever since Remi broke Eden’s trust by telling Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) that she was in love with him. Remi, meantime, has become sidetracked after learning that Bree’s (Juliet Godwin) husband Jacob (Alex Williams) is physically violent to her.
Remi is busking outside the surf club and singing depressing songs, which reflects the mood. Remi’s bandmate Kirby (Angelina Thomson) tells him to snap out of it since they have to go up to the lighthouse to shoot their debut music video later that day.
The band must be at the top of their game to not blow this chance because they were able to convince Kirby’s friend Minnie (Deborah An) to shoot it for mate’s rates.
Remi believes Eden is to blame for the issue, and when Kirby and Theo (Matt Evans) return to the Lyrik home, they discover Eden lounging around and acting unmotivated, they confirm Remi’s theory.
By some miracle, the entire band makes it to the lighthouse despite the tenuous situation, but Minnie is unsatisfied with what she has to work with.
Theo, who is having trouble with his first try at lip-syncing, turns out to be the major problem despite Remi and Eden’s continued icy relationship.
Minnie is left gathering images of Eden and Remi, who both appear to be in distress, as Kirby tries to mentor Theo. Remi immediately responds that not everything is about her and storms off when Eden eventually chastises him about the Cash incident.
Remi tells Eden what’s going on with Bree after she follows him, which puts their own issues in perspective and leads them to decide to finish the shoot as a group.
It’s up to Theo and Kirby to hit the button to broadcast the group’s highly polished film to their social media accounts later in the week after cramming in some editing sessions with Minnie.
The film is enthusiastically received by their admirers, as evidenced by the flood of comments, however there’s one shot that could seriously harm two other people in the bay.
After Felicity (Jacqui Purvis) accepts his pretty public marriage proposal, Tane (Ethan Browne) is starting to realise that she might not be as enthusiastic about the notion of marriage as he first assumed.
Tane was relieved to hear Flick’s answer after she initially hesitated a little and needed a minute to herself while her loved ones looked on from a distance. He had no idea that she had only acted in that way because she felt the strain of everyone’s attention on her—at least, until now!
Tane is unnerved as he pauses the music video to see Flick’s face as she hugs him after saying yes after giving Lyrik permission to utilise some portions of the proposal.
Tane urges her to accept that she’s feeling sad about the whole situation when Flick comes to find him, as his sudden understanding of her recent reluctance to discuss wedding dates…
Tane is sceptical of Flick’s assurances that everything is fine. and chooses to cancel the nuptials!
As word of the video spreads, Kirby receives a notification that causes her jaw to drop. It’s a message from Bob (Rob Mallett), the former lead vocalist of Lyrik, who observes that she and Theo appear to be cosy in the video.
Theo observes Kirby’s slight withdrawal, but she attributes it to online trolls. It’s evident that the flashback has gotten under Kirby’s skin as she texts Bob back to inform him that it’s none of his concern.
The actor Matt Evans just announced the impending release of his own debut single, so Theo isn’t the only one aiming for musical success.
Before being cast in Home and Away, Matt gained notoriety after competing on The Voice Australia in 2020. Earlier this year, he talked to the Daily Telegraph about the possibility of incorporating his music into the series.
It is really good to have all of the worlds meet, which is really exciting for me, said Matt. “It has been hard almost letting go of music by just doing the acting for a long so it is really nice to be able to do both,” he added.
He continued, “Music is for me like a second language and a method to express myself. “Music was the first thing I encountered in my life that allowed me to explore my artistic side and realise that, contrary to what I had believed when I was younger, I was more of a creative than a football player. It set me free and shaped who I am now. For me, it is a major release.
