Johnny discussed the devastating effect his terminal brain cancer diagnosis has had on his memory during his Sunrise interview.

He talked about how remembering all the “happy and sad memories” had been a benefit of writing his new book.

“You go through such trauma, especially with the brain cancer, that a lot of it you don’t remember,” he said.

‘My memory isn’t what it used to be, so I frequently forget things,’ Writing triggers memories, whether they are joyful or painful.

When Johnny received his brain cancer diagnosis five years ago, he added that he felt as though he had “hit a brick wall.”

I had the impression that I was simply kicking goals, and I couldn’t fail. And then all of a sudden, I hit a brick wall, the world collapsed around me, and I was left alone

crumbling,” he declared.

But I’m so glad I have this amazing support system in place. One of them is Tahnee [Sims, his girlfriend]. The people you are surrounded by are what keep you going.

The interview comes after Johnny revealed on Monday that his diagnosis is terminal, and he expressed concern for Tahnee Simms, his girlfriend, regarding how she would fare without him.

He said to host Carrie Bickmore of The Project, “You can only imagine how difficult it’s been for her.”

I hate to say it, but I think a lot about how difficult it might be for her if something were to happen to me, he continued.

I don’t want to think about it, so that’s why. It just makes me a little bit emotional because I know something will happen eventually, whether it’s in a month, ten years, or twenty.
