Matthew Morrison, who joined the National Youth Theatre at an early age, plays Felix.
After being cast in EastEnders, Matthew claimed that playing a drag performer was a “luxury.”
He told Digital Spy, “Drag is an artform that I genuinely love and I take my hat off to everyone that performs it.
“My God, I was so happy when I saw myself after doing my makeup! What fun! As you adopt this new character while in drag, your confidence develops.”
The 30-year-old actor also said in a behind-the-scenes video shared to the EastEnders Instagram: “I am lucky to have the opportunity to step into the heels of the feisty Tara Misu as part of my role in EastEnders.
It’s an honor to represent the LGBTQIA+ community and exhibit the innovative drag to Walford inhabitants as well as spectators at home.
Even Drag Race UK season one contestant Vinegar Strokes, who is a real-life drag queen, gave Matthew some advice.
“Beautiful vinegar is also quite informative. Speaking with someone who is experienced and has been performing in drag for a long time is really good “said he.
What other roles has Matthew Morrison had?
Matthew attended Queen Mary University and earned a BSc in Mathematics in 2015 before going on to earn an MSc in Mathematics the following year.
Matthew joined the Queen Mary Theatre Company while a student and participated in various festivals, such as the Edinburgh Fringe.
Additionally, he has acted in several short features, including Youth Condemn and Upon the Edge.
