The highly anticipated return of Neighbours next year will feature a “unbelievable” storyline for Paul Robinson, according to the show’s star Stefan Dennis, and we for one are very intrigued.
Amazon Freevee saved the Australian soap last month after Channel 5 had controversially decided to cancel it, citing their desire to invest in “original UK drama” as their justification.
With over 4 million viewers tuning in, the hour-long final episode, which starred a number of former stars including Kylie Minogue, Guy Pearce, and Margot Robbie, brought the serial drama to a successful conclusion.
The actors who play Susan Kennedy, Karl Kennedy, Toadie Rebecchi, and Paul Robinson, respectively, Jackie Woodburne, Alan Fletcher, Ryan Moloney, and Stefan Dennis, have all agreed to participate in the sequel series of Neighbours, despite the show’s almost flawless conclusion. Neighbours was revived by Amazon Freevee and will return to screens in the second half of next year.
Little is known about the storylines the adored soap will tackle when it returns, but Stefan, 64, has hinted that his famous character Paul might have a “unbelievable” storyline.
He said in a lighthearted clip that was posted on Neighbours’ social media, “You’re kidding?” “They want Paul to carry out THAT?
Despite the fact that I’ve done some odd things in the past, THAT is unbelievable. I think you should pay attention!
Think of us as elated.
After reconciling with his longtime love Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou), Paul was last seen in the series’ concluding Channel 5 episode, where he then joined a number of other well-known characters on No. 24’s balcony to celebrate Toadie’s marriage to Melanie Pearson (Lucinda Cowden).
Aside from Jane “Plain Jane Superbrain” Harris (Annie Jones) and ex-boyfriend Mike Young, other well-known soap opera power couple Scott and Charlene (Jason Donovan and Kylie) were present (Guy Pearce).
In contrast, following the commotion and fanfare surrounding Neighbours’ initial cancellation, Amazon Freevee made the decision to restart the show.
Not every hero dons a cape.
A world premiere on Freevee in the US and the UK is scheduled for the second half of 2023, following the start of production.
In Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, you can access fresh episodes of the serial drama on Prime Video.
