EastEnders references Lionesses’ historic victory with last-minute insert scene

“Each and every one of them is an inspiration.”

Occasionally, EastEnders will make reference to actual events; however, due to the nature of those events, the scenes referencing them must be shot at the last minute.

That is what occurred in yesterday’s (August 1) show, which featured a celebration of the Lionesses’ historic Euro 2022 victory at Wembley.

In the recently-filmed scene, landlady Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Kim Fox (Tameka Empson), and Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) were toasting the team while having a drink at the Queen Vic.

Kim was delighted that it finally happened, despite the fact that she said she wasn’t usually a sports enthusiast “”Every single one of them is a role model, I’m telling you,” she said when she returned. You can become anything you can see!”

Rocky tried to tell a story about himself and John Barnes, but was swiftly silenced. Linda joked that she was so pleased, she might pull out her sports bra herself, alluding to Chloe Kelly’s celebration when she scored the game-winning goal.

After extra time, England defeated Germany 2-1 to claim their first major trophy.

Recently, EastEnders paid homage to Neighbours when it aired its farewell episode after 37 years on television. Instead of a scenario that was inserted into an episode, a drawing that depicted Linda swooning over Karl Kennedy as soon as he enters the café was released online.

In the video, several cast members expressed gratitude to Neighbours fans for all they have done over the years and best wishes for the future.
