Since learning Leah (Ada Nicodemou) and her pals are in danger during the brunch they attended in the countryside, Justin (James Stewart) has been in a panic. Once the police are involved, it quickly becomes apparent that Heather is implicated—especially after they go to her house and discover a dead body in the freezer.
Justin goes to the hospital to be with his partner after he learns that Leah has been transported there after being drugged and kept prisoner. The news stuns the Bay; John (Shane Withington) struggles to understand why Heather would pick on Leah and her friends, and Nikau (Kawakawa Fox-Reo) questions the sanity of the lady he’s been seeing.
John is astonished, distraught, and concerned when it is revealed that Heather (Sofia Nolan) is Marilyn’s (Emily Symons) daughter. As Alf (Ray Meagher) is being taken to the hospital, Roo (Georgie Parker), who is struggling to breathe through his oxygen mask, is clinging to him. After their trauma, Irene (Lynne McGranger) also shows up, and the friends remain close. However, they are concerned about Marilyn and want to know if she is okay.
When Heather is brought into the hospital while still unconscious and Marilyn stumbles in behind the paramedics, their worries are allayed. She is pulled into a bear embrace by her buddies as she sobs hysterically.
As Marilyn waits by Heather’s bedside, she comes to a choice after seeing how much suffering her daughter has caused. Marilyn says farewell to Alf and departs the Bay permanently out of fear that her friends will now perceive her differently as a result of Heather forcing out her humiliating truth.
