In Coronation Street, Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) is still looking into Stu Carpenter’s (Bill Fellows) past in the hopes of uncovering some scrap of information showing that he wasn’t responsible for Charlie’s murder.
The plot then takes an interesting turn as Alya turns her attention to Lucy (Lynda Rooke), Stu’s ex-wife, and begins to suspect that she might be concealing something.
Stu is anxious to see his granddaughter Eliza at Speed Daal at the beginning of the week.
Fortunately, everything goes well at the meeting, but when Lucy shows up and demands that Bridget (Beth Vyse) and Eliza leave immediately, the atmosphere changes.
Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) informs Alya at No. 3 that there was no sign of Stu’s DNA on Charlie’s bag, but that re-testing the evidence to determine who’s DNA is present would be costly.
Later, as Bridget, Lucy, and Eliza are leaving Speed Daal, Alya spots them and pursues them, accusing Lucy of concealing crucial information regarding Stu’s case.
Alya is determined to come up with the money for that crucial DNA test because she thinks Lucy may know more than she is letting on.
When Stu returns home, he tells Yasmeen (Shelley King) and Alya that he has decided to give up on the case and simply wants to put the past behind him. What then will Alya do?
Though suspicions about Lucy are growing, will Alya actually carry out her plan to collect enough money?
Will that DNA test provide the answer as to who actually murdered Charlie?
