The mystery surrounding DCI Samantha Keeble’s obsession with Phil Mitchell and her attempts to subdue the hardman is currently enthralling EastEnders viewers. Additionally, viewers have been left wondering whether the Mitchell family and the detective have a hidden connection that will be made clear during the BBC soap opera’s flashback episode next week.

Peggy Mitchell and her family will be the focus of the story, which is set in 1979. It has been hinted that a secret involving Keeble will also be revealed. Actress Alison Newman first portrayed DCI Keeble in 2008 before coming back in 2014 for the well-known Lucy Beale murder investigation.

She later made a comeback earlier this year to bring Phil Mitchell to justice and free him from jail after he consented to serve as a police informant. However, viewers of television dramas will only ever recall Newman in a completely different capacity.
